Most young people don't eat a healthy diet. If you find it really hard to eat healthy try to only have small amounts during the week or try to keep these for a weekend.

It is recommended that everyone should eat at least 5 portions of a variety fruit and vegetables each day, to reduce the risks of cancer and coronary heart disease and many other chronic diseases. Yet on average fruit and vegetables eaten by us in England is less than 3 portions a day. It is found that in general children eat less than 3 portions a day.

How much is one portion of fruit?
A. One portion of fruit is, for example, 1 medium apple, or 1 medium banana, or 2 small satsumas or 3 dried apricots.
A glass of 100% fruit juice only counts once a day, however much you drink. One portion of dried fruit counts, but other types of fruit and vegetables should be eaten to meet the rest of the 5 A DAY

Just because you aren't sporty doesn't mean you can't be active. By doing some moderate activity like taking a fast walk, dancing or cycling for 1 hour per day can keep you active.
Keeping active will improve your overall health, especially helping to build stronger bones, keep a healthy body weight and breathing becomes more easy. It should be fun at the same time and you will feel good about yourself afterwards. It can help you meet old and new friends and help you unwind from school and stresses of life.

Caring for your skin everyday is easy with soap and water. You don't really need to have the latest expensive skin care products, soap and water easily do the same trick. Keeping skin protected from the suns rays is important, always use a sun screen to protect yourself.
Some young people do suffer with skin conditions. Please visit your Doctor or local pharmacy for advice on which products to use.

Many young people don't even think about having an accident. Your danger zones for accidents are roads, doing sports, at home and if you are at work. As you become older you will be allowed to go to more places on your own. Your parents or carers may constantly remind you about keeping safe, don't do this and don't do that but please remember they are only telling you because they care and don't want you to have any unnecessary accidents.

Remember to try to always keep you safe and avoid unnecessary accidents by following good advice.
